What Causes Piercing Pain Below The Rib Cage While Bending?

I have what feels like a small long extra rib on my right side under my rib cage. Sometimes when i move (especially while moving my hips or bending over and back up, like while dancing, having sex, etc) it kind of pops and moved and hurts. It freaks me out im scared it is going to break and puncture my lung or something...should i worry? What is it? I can feel a long thinner line and if i push it it will move in and out.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have piercing pain below the rib cage while bending. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like muscle strain , myofascial pain , chest infection , acid reflux and lift something too heavy . It can also sometimes occur due to cardiac condition like angina . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist for proper examination and rule out serious condition like angina . Doctor may order ECG, TMT along with complete blood profile and troponin t test . I to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe isosorbide dinitrate , beta blockers , furosemide , sedative and aspirin . Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon if there will be broken rib or muscle , doctor may take chest x-ray and examine physically . For now continue taking advil , stay calm and apply warm compresses to back . If condition persist then consult chest specialist also for chest infection.
