The brownish discharge after the periods have ended can be due to light menstrual blood discharge only.
In case the brown discharge is associated with foul odor then it may be due to infection.
In that case, you need to get the brown discharge examined for micro-biological examination to isolate the causative micro-organism.
In case some micro-organism is isolated appropriate anti-microbial treatment will have to be given.
