What Causes Persistent Tenderness And Swelling In The Feet?

I was in an accident 6 weeks ago. Two bones in my right leg and one bone in my left foot where broken, I have significant swelling in both feet each day. In the morning the swelling has gone down but as soon as I get up I can feel tenderness in both feet.
