Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have persistent ringing sound in the ear . Well the symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as tinnitus as you also mention in query . There can be many reasons for tinnitus like stress and anxiety , hearing loss , temporomandibular joint problem and local or generalized alteration in blood flow .I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Audiometry, x Ray MRI can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. You can be advised medicines like Tricyclic Anti-depressant like Amitryptiline, anti anxiety medication like Alprazolam, as well as Multivitamin supplements like ginkgo biloba can be advised. Avoid exposure to very loud sounds and also avoid diving, swimming and keep your ear dry.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
