What Causes Persistent Ringing In Ears?

Hi, I have had a very light cold for the last 5 days with a sore throat. Yesterday I had the feeling my ears needed to pop like your when your in a plane. This morning I have woke up and I have ringing in my ear. It is really loud. I am scared this is tinnitus. Is this just from the cold? Is there any thing I can buy for this over the counter?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic

It suggests that ringing in your ears most probably due to the cold.
Better to go for the treatment of cold for the five days if condition persist even after five days then go for pure tone audiometry and otoscopic examination to rule out other disease and to reach the near diagnosis.

Thanks
