What Causes Persistent Right Sided Abdominal Pain?

I ve had ongoing yet interspers right sided abdominal pain about 3 fingers above my belly button and a bit to the side of it. The pain does not move. When it hits it is awful and I can t bend without feeling in excruciating pain. This has been going on for over 2 years. Abdominal X-rays etc. show nothing. But something is there.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
By going through your description about the pain in the abdomen on the right side about 3 fingers above belly button, it appears to be arising due to 'gall stone disease'. Abdominal X-ray might not be a sensitive investigation to pick up gall stones and hence may appear normal.
Kindly get an ultrasound abdomen done to confirm the diagnosis. In case it is due to gall stones, you need to consult Surgeon for further evaluation and management of the same.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
