What Causes Persistent Pain In Wrist Along With Clicking Sound?

Fell on wrist 2 weeks ago. Been wearing a support ever since. It only seems to be getting worse, it never swelled up so i didn t think there was much wrong with it. But it clicks everytime i move it, and i can t do simple tasks such as brushing my hair/shampooing without it giving in and me dropping/having to stop doing it as it s so painful. Sometimes, i will get a dull pain going through my fingers and the rest of my wrist but these symptons are only getting more enhanced as the days go on - what has happened to it?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the persistent pain in wrist with clicking sound indicates:

- inflammation through injury ( obvious or unnoticed )
- nerve compression
- ligament sprain or strain
- cellulitis from hematoma formation
- scaphoid fracture
- avascular necrosis of scaphoid head
- carpel tunnel issues

* Further work up is mandatory as x-ray, soft tissue sonogram with or without an MRI for the final diagnosis and cure accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
