What Causes Persistent Pain In The Prostate Area, Lower Back And Hip Bone?
Hi, I am 32 years old male, 5 8, 60kgs. A couple of months back I started having pain in my left testicle and prostate area. I saw a urologist who asked for a semen culture. The report came positive, two organisms identified. He gave me augmentin 625 for two weeks. The pain in my testicle has gone but prostate area still hurts a little bit. Also i am now experiencing lower back and hip bone pain. What should i do? Continue with the antibiotic? Also i have read that amoxycillin and potassium clavulanate does not penetrate the prostate very well? Should i consider changing the antibiotic?
Sounds to be chronic prostatis issue, as the infection of testicle resolved but the prostate infection is still persistent and giving discomfort. In my clinic, I recommend culture report of prostate massage fluid with or without prostate biopsy for further cure. Definitely you require antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal drugs to cure the issue in best way.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
