What Causes Persistent Pain In The Joints After Recovering From Malaria?

hi DR, i m 21 yrs of age. Ever since i was diagnosed of maleria in 2015 till now i v never felt well.. i was was admitted for two days after, even though i was told by the doctor that the treatment wasn t complete but due to financial challenges i couldn t continue because it was a private hospital and was very expensive.. since then, i have been facing alot of health challanges haven taken a lot of medications for maleria. i feel pains all over my joins including the neck to.. DR, pls i wish to get wors from you if really this could still be maleria symtoms or could it be an effect of the long term untreated maleria? thks.. looking forward to hearing from you

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Malaria can present in many ways and half-treated Malaria can cause multiple symptoms.
Hence your symptoms can be attributed to malaria or can be due to additional factors too.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Malaria treatment can be done on OPD that is outpatient basis.
it is not very costly as you think.
Consult your Family Physician, get investigated for malaria and other causes after a clinical evaluation and get treated accordingly.
There is no need to visit a costly hospital.
Take multivitamins and mineral and Vitamin D if the blood reports of Vitamin are less than the range.
Also get the thyroid, typhoid tests along with for diabetes.
Complete the course and also take care to be away from mospito bites, use some repellents, use mosquito nets at bedtime
