What Causes Persistent Pain In Lower Back Despite Taking Medications?

I am having alot of pain on left side of lower back, more in my side, I have never really had back problems until 2 years ago I took a fall.. I was ok but ..now I feel lower back pain in center of my lower back... However this problem is where the pain has decided to give me trouble... its a throbbing pain, I have been able to lay down and sleep ok , but upon rising the pain is bad , between a throbbing and burning... I have taken Ibprohphens and today I tried asprsin back and pain , the pain is not letting up. Right along I felt like it was a muscle, I always lay on left side and that seems to be what set this off , any Ideas or thoughts sure would be appreciated thank you
