What Causes Persistent Pain In Left Side Of Head?

I have had a headache most of the day and now that I am lying down trying to go to sleep I feel the left side of my head, near my ear, pulsating. It is not painful but it is annoying. I feel it whether I lay on that side or on my back. Should I be concerned?

Hello,

The persistent pain over one side of head with interference with sleep may be part of migraine disorder in majority of the cases. Primary relief with:
- Plenty of liquids
- Caffeine items as coffee or else
- Avoid triggers as stress, anxiety, work burden
- Deep breathing exercises and YOGA
- Walking in fresh air
- Analgesic as tramadol hydrochloride with meals, preferably with antacid
- Specific therapy of ergotamine or others need consulting with your doctor
