What Causes Persistent Non Productive Cough?

I have had a non productive cough for approx. a month. It s a nagging cough during the day and frequently at night. I have a history of lung cancer for which I had surgery followed by chemo two years ago and no signs of recurrence with another CT scan checkup in Dec. I never had any symptoms when they discovered the Ca. What could it be? K YYYY@YYYY

Hello,
Thanks for asking to HCM
The cough could be because of the irritation because of the air flow.
The airflow dries up the trachea (wind pipe ) because of the decreased lung volume so the need for air is increased and the flow becomes tubulent and causes more irritation .
you need to take humidified air .Take antihistaminics like cetrizine , loratidine etc to decrease the allergic response.
