General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Though there are many reasons for hyperfunctioning of bowel in pregnancy, the history of a trip to bali suggest GI infection via some sort of bacteria or virus in the food or water consumption most likely.

* Kindly consult her OBGY for prescription of GI specific antibiotics, pro
biotics to recover faster.

Presently intake of oral rehydration salt will help to relieve the fluid debt produced by diarrhea.

Tablet ranitidine ( 150 mg ) to be consumed on empty stomach for nausea control without any ill effect over pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
