What Causes Persistent Low Grade Fever Along With Muscle Cramps?

My husband has had a low grade fever for 12 days now (100.5-102.5). Ibuprofen and even Motrin will only keep it down for 3-4 hours. The last couple days he has experienced muscle cramping in his feet and now in his hip area. He s been on antibiotics for 6 days now without any chance in his symptoms. Any ideas?
