Hey I m suffering from loose stool and sometimes mushy stool from last 2 months.i have been admitted in hospital in icu for more then 10 days because of deficiency of vitamanis and calcium in my body.some times when I go to washroom and if it is really loose than all the calcium gets out and instantly cramps in my hands and legs. Doctor has done every test related to stomach and blood but nothing got diagnose. I am taking medicines but still same condition my stool is still mushy and sometimes loose. I have lost 4 kg weight because not able to digest properly please advice
There can be various reasons for persistent loose stools as: - Antibiotic (as clindamycin or else) induced C. Diffcile infection - Gut flora disturbances - Enzyme deficiencies - Mal absorption issues - Vitamins and minerals deficiency as niacin or others - Stress and anxiety related - Gastroparesis or hyper motility issues - Inflammatory bowel disorders
In my clinic, I do recommend an evaluation of stool microscopy for best primary goal to the diagnostic approach followed by colonoscopy with biopsy of the gut.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
