What Causes Persistent Itching All Over The Body?

Hi, I just would like to ask about body itching. I have body itching for two weeks now and without apparent reason. No bedbugs. No insect bites. I dont have any kind of allergy. but the itching comes and go any time of the day. there s one time i have been woken up due to severe itching. Lately, I have been noticing some very tiny pin prick dots on my body. Can you give me a diagnosis on this? Thanks.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain small pin prick like dots over the body and severe itching seems to be due to contact allergic dermatitis..
The common allergens can be Poison ivy, detergents,, latex, leather, skin cosmetics, soaps, certain foods and medications..
I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like RAST test, Patch test and food challenge test can help in diagnosis and avoiding exposure to allergen can help..
As of now you can take anti allergics like Allegra or benadryl and apply steroid ointment like Cortisone over bumps for relief from itching.
Also do cool compresses over the bumps..
Wear loose fitting clothes..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
