What Causes Persistent High Fever In A Child?
My 8 month old son has a fever of 104 and a red rash on lower back and butt. He seems fine and isn t fussing at all. But, I m worried about his fever. I brought him to the hospital and they think he has a viral infection. Dr put him on Vanco and Cipro. Then, next day put him on Zosyn. Dr ruled out MRSA and fungal infection. Now his Neutrophil count went from 430 to 104. Don t like them giving him so many antibiotics, when those only cure bacterial infections! Now they transported him to a Children s Hospital. Stressing out!!

Cause of fever should be diagnosed. it can be viral fever uti they should be excluded control fever with syrup crocin head bath and sponging can be done. Consult neonatologist for examination and advise on treatment .Maintain hydration. medication on doctors advise.
