What Causes Persistent Fever, Muscle Aches And Chills Despite On Antibiotics For Strep Throat?

My husband has been diagnosed with strep throat. He has been on antibiotics since Wednesday and still has fevers, chills, sweats, muscle aches. This seems normal for strep but he also has cough so between muscle aches and cough when he lies down, he has not slept in 3 days. Is cough normal and should he still be having fevers at this point? We cannot get into doctor again today as they are booked.

Hi welcome to the health care magic

You should consult physician for your work up like....
-general examination
-Auscultation
-Throat swab for culture
-CBC
-x ray only if needed

According to above work up Your doctor will give you medication (suitable antibiotic)

Meanwhile drink more water

Salt water gargle done three times a day

Vitamin C lozenges chewed three to four times a day...

One tsp turmeric powder with milk taken daily to sooth respiratory tract

Take care

Consult physician for examination
