What Causes Persistent Ear Pain When Diagnosed With Stage-4 Lung Cancer?

My mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer andocarcenoma and has had ear pain for months which she thinks is still related to allergies. The doctors have not addressed it except to say the ears look good. Could this be related to the lung cancer at all?
