What Causes Persistent Dull Pain In Hands And Feet?

I have had dull aches in my feet (top of feet, inside arches, and toes) and in my hands (back of hands, fingers, but not the joints), and also in upper arms and legs. Have seen family doctor and have had many tests, including blood tests, X-rays, bone scans, with no positive results. Any ideas?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the persistent dull pain in hands and feet indicate fibromyalgia or polymyositis issue most likely. This type of condition reveals normal blood tests, X-ray and bone scans unless specific antibodies or other work up is considered. My guidelines at present:
- Drink more liquids
- Consume balanced nutritious diet
- Daily intake of multi vitamins, minerals with zinc, magnesium and selenium, anti oxidants
- Analgesic as chlordiazepoxide or diclofenac sodium after meals if no history of drug sensitivity.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
