What Causes Persistent Dryness And Itching In The Vagina?

Hello, I have been struggling for a couple years with BV but this last time I got it it seemed different, BV had never been itchy in the past and this time it was so I went to see a doctor and she confirmed it was BV when I thought it was a yeast infection. After treating my BV with a vaginal gel antibiotic,(metrozindole)- not sure of spelling, the itching lessened but did not go away completely and discharge was looking like I had a yeast infection which I’m very familiar with getting after using antibiotics. To be safe I went back into my doctor and they did another swab and it came back negative for BV and negative for yeast. I have also had blood and urine work and am negative on every STI (std) and also negative for trich. My discharge is slowly getting back to normal ( I think) but I’m still extremely itchy and dry ! What on earth could it be ?! My doctor has no more answers for me please help.

most likely causes .

Vaginal yeast infections, also known as candidiasis, are a common female condition. A healthy vagina has bacteria and some yeast cells. But when the balance of bacteria and yeast changes, the yeast cells can multiply. This causes intense itching, swelling, and irritation.

Treating a vaginal yeast infection can relieve symptoms within a few days. In more severe cases, it may take up to two weeks.

Vaginal yeast infections aren’t considered a sexually transmitted infection (STI). Sexual contact can spread it, but women who aren’t sexually active can also get them. Once you get a yeast infection, you’re also more likely to get another one.
