What Causes Persistent Cough Despite Taking Nexium And Sinutab?

Hi I had persistent coughing for 1 month and then developed a chest infection and was on antibiotics for 1 week and the cough disappeared. But after finishing the cough has come back. The dr sent me off for a CAT scan. The scan has come back clear of bronchiectasis or interstitial fibrosis. There is peribronchiolitis in the lower right lobe and scarring. He increased my dose of nexium as I have Barretts oesaphagus. The increase in nexium did not make a difference to the cough but if I take Sinutab the cough disappears for the day. The cough is very sticky. Should I be going to see the gastroenterolist or a respiratiory dr now? Thanks NIcky

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this was the lung infection so it gives condition like bronchiectasis, bronchitis, and others and it is the pathophysiological phenomenon, and such changes could be seen even after eradication of infection, may be asymptomatic or have some symptoms, wait for some time, it will be okay later or sooner if not then you need to see the pulmonologist hope this information helps.
