Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent cough and burning sensation in throat post cholecystectomy, Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query but in your case it seems to me that there can be two probable reasons responsible :

- It can occur due to upper respiratory track infection , which can be bacterial or viral .

- It occur due to acid reflux . Acidic content of stomach come upwards due to esophagus sphincter dysfunction which cause dry cough chest burn and pain along with sore throat.

I would suggest you to avoid spicy and heavy meal specially at night , eat small and frequent meals , do warm saline gargles and take antacid after every meal . Consult gastroenterologist for proper examination and rule out causes like sore throat . Doctor may order certain test like endoscopy or esophegus and X-ray of upper digestive track . Doctor may prescribe ranitidine or omeprazole along with sucralfate for healing of throat . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
