What Causes Persistent Bruise On Foot And Pain In The Calf Post Fracture In Metatarsal Bone?

I am recovering from a broken foot ( 5th Metatarsal injury) and was in a walking boot for 6 weeks. I came out of the boot about 2 weeks ago. The foot is swelling periodcally and is better with elevation. However, I am still bruised across the top of the foot, and now have a pain in my calf that started this afternoon. I am also having some palpatation type symptoms in the neck artery on the same side. I am concerned because many years ago I had a bllod clot in this same leg due to an auto accident

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if the condition is not being studied for the imaging study then it need to be sent for the x-ray, else the chances of fracture is very less likely, keep the leg in elevated position and care need to be taken for the infection, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
