What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pains After Treatment For Gastroentertis?

Had a stomach bug , diarrhea, loose and choppy stools. Was In hospital 5 days. They said I had a urinary infection. That was in April 2014. My gastroligist did endosecopy and said all was well. How ever I still have much pain. I have been taking sucralfate 1mg tab teva 4 time daily, 2hr befor meals and dexilant 60 mg cap I time daily for the past 7 days and still no help. I can eat meals, which does not bother me. My stools are normal now. My friend had gaul bladder removed. Could this be the cause. I take oxycodone hcl 5mg tab cara which I had left over from an old prescription. It helps but does not remove all the pain. What say you

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of stomach bug, diarrhea, loose choppy stools for which you had you were admitted for 5 days, you are fine now but some problems are lingering, like pain in abdomen. Taking the medical treatment as mentioned by you, Sucralfate, Dexilant.
Oxycodone will reduce the pain only, will not help for the disease control.
I would advise you the following:
Get the stool, urine and stool tests and get started on appropriate antibiotics if required.
Take probiotics, anti-spasmodics and such things that help to cure the problems as well as have symptomatic relief.
I find this answer helpful
