What Causes Periodic Coughing Spells Followed By Vomiting?
Hello. My wife, Diane, has been battling stage IV ovarian cancer since December 2014. Currently she s receiving chemotherapy with Doxil. She has periodic coughing spells that cause her to vomit. So far it has been clear, saliva-like fluid that comes up, not food or stomach contents. Is this from the Doxil? We are trying to figure out how to control it so she can rest comfortably.

doxil can cause nausea and vomiting as a side effect. she can take tab. ondansetron for chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting. it is usually quite effective. and also get her checked for any respiratory infection which can cause coughing bouts. since usually patients undergoing chemotherapy are immunocompromised
