General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, frequency of urine with small amounts in a patient with diabetes mellitus suggests underlying urinary tract infection causing cystitis.

She needs physician consultation as early as possible for antibiotic therapy and rapid resolution of symptoms and infection to prevent secondary damage to the kidney via ascending pathology.

Till that time, you can opt for following measures for better recovery
- she must consume 1.5 times the water she consumes at present
- cranberry pills
- chewable vitamin C supplements
- tablet paracetamol for pain relief
day after meals
- convey her for maintenance of genital hygiene

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
