What Causes Passing Of Pale Stool With Mucus While On Carafate And Phenergan?

I have Crohn s Disease and in the middle of a flare. My GI doctor put me back on Carafate Suspension 10mL TID to help with the discomfort from the exacerbated inflammation as well as Phenergan 25mg Suppositories... can either if those medications or both combined cause bowels to become essentially white with a mixture of yellowish and mucus?

Hi,

Carafate (an antacid) and phenergan are unlikely to cause the said change in stool consistency. Rather, it is part of the Crohns flare up. Need not discontinue the medicine. Just take enough fluids and a soft diet. You will be alright back shortly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
