What Causes Palpitations With Hallow Sound On Tapping Neck?

I have a hollow sound in my when I tap the back of my neck. Lately, there have been times when I fe hear my heart beating in my ears and the sound of my muscles in my neck (or bones) when I turn my head. At first I wrote it off to some type if inner ear/fluid in the ear type issue. But it is apparent that there is a very hollow sound when I thump the back of my neck just below the skull. The hollow sounds seems prominent there.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

All your symptoms seem to be related to neck bones damages. Should check it out with orthopedic doctor and run MRI and X-ray of neck to evaluate the changes there. Meanwhile start taking magnesium and fish oil supplement. Discuss this further with your caring orthopedic doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
