What Causes Palpitations And Pinching Sensation Around The Chest?

I have daily flip flop sensations in my heart and have learned to slow down and stay calm until they pass. Recently I have also had an intermittent pinching sensation around my heart. It is uncomfortable but lasts just seconds. It has reoccurred over the last week daily whereas before I just got it a couple of times a week. Should I see my GP?

Hello welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

You may be suffering from palpitations, or it may be due to anxiety neurosis or arrythmia of heart or excessive caffeine intake or antimicrobial defects or conductive problems of heart etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Avoid alcohol and spicy food.
Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week.

Hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
