Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 57 yr old woman who teaches 2 -3 aerobic style classes a day. Weight proportional to height. Eat a very low sugar diet and eat 3-4 times a day. Very little stress. I wake up every morning with high heart beat. Lately, I notice some memory issues.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Memory loss can occur due to a number of causes. Most commonly forgetfulness is due to degenerative change which is age related. Vascular causes also cause memory loss. I suggest you to consult a neurologist for clinical assessment and to find out the cause of memory loss by relevant investigations. Age related memory loss is irreversible and the degenerative process can be slowed down with supplements. Vascular causes can be treated with appropriate measures. Thus, consult your neurologist for further management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
