What Causes Painless Brown Spots In The Elbow Crook?

I had some little brown spots that look like liver spots in the crook of my right elbow. They just showed up like 2 months ago. I have blood drawn from there every so often to check my hypothyroidism, but my blood hasn t been drawn for 6 months. There is no irritation and no bumps, its just weird how they appeared suddenly. I am 33 year old female, I don t smoke, I don t drink and I don t do drugs. What could cause this sudden appearance of these liver spots on the inside of my elbow?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello

This seems to be due to prolonged sun exposure. I would advise you not to worry much and start using sunscreen regularly. Moisturize your body. Be well hydrated. Try to avoid going out in the sun without sunscreen. These measures would help prevent further spots.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiba Tehrim, General & Family Physician
