What Causes Painful Whiteheads On The Nose?

Over the past few months I ve been getting the odd whitehead up one nostril but since about two weeks ago they ve started multiplying. I ve currently got about 6 which are quite painful and uncomfortable. I also have psoriasis which I do get up my nose and I was wondering if the two were related.

Hi,

Whiteheads and Psoriasis are two different skin conditions and a clinical examination is a must to rule out either of them. As far as whiteheads are concerned they occur due to clogging of pores with debris, sebum and bacteria causing infection and pain.

At times a thin layer is present over the surface causing them to appear white. Whiteheads are mild acne. You can start using Salicylic acid containing facewash. Use benzoyl peroxide and Clindamycin containing creams.

Scrub your face twice a week with a face scrub. Try to cover your face while going out to avoid excessive dust exposures.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
