Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I would like to get your advice about about some aspects that make my life uneasy. I ve just recently started sexual life. I was always scared to start it because of the pain. My other problem was that I started visiting gynecologists since 10 years old due to the yeast infection that I used to suffer with during all my life. My expierence of visiting doctors was very painful. I formed the feeling in my mind that I can t stand the gynecological instruments touching my vagina. Well, it s just the idea I wanted to start with. As I already told you my first sex occurred and it was painful and burning. I remember only episodes of it because I decided to get completely drunk and it really helped my boyfriend to do the intercourse. I had some blood and it was still bleeding for 2 days. After a week we tried to have sex again. I suddenly burst into tears because the pain was awful. It was burning, so painful at the entry of vagina. The other fact is i felt the biggest preassure on my bladder and wanted to pee so bad. Now, it s been already a month i m trying to have sex but i always stop my boyfriend because I can t handle that burning pain. All my body is kind of stone and every friction inside my vagina causes me that burning sensation. I got more sweaty and strained when he s inside and trembling. When he insurts his finger instead of the penis , I m almost free of pain. It just gives me a little discomfort. I really can t understand if it is vaginismus or just the painful beggining of sexual life. I m just really worried about that burning pain. It makes me being unable to let my boyfriend make any frictions inside. What do you think I should do? Thank you!

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
I would suggest you to take a full course of medicines for yeast infection, you had been having since long. Please see that you both have it at the same time. Consult your gynecologist for deciding exact dose and duration of medicines you need. Learn a habit of good genital hygiene for a happy married life. To keep your body fully relaxed and loose would facilitate the act. Sex is mostly painful and burning to start with but with relaxed body and mind, pain will reduce day by day.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
