What Causes Painful Urination With Traces Of Blood?

Wonder if you could help, i ve been having pains when urinating for about four days then it stopped for a day. It has just returned today and the pain is terrible and it seems as though slight traces of blood are in my urine. Now i did think it was Cystitis until i saw the blood, is it possible it could be something worse?
