What Causes Painful Urination In A Child?

Hi, my Granddaughter has pain with urination. She was seen yesterday for a UTI. The results came back negative. What else could it be? She is only 5 years old. She has no fever or any other symptoms. Just pain with urination. There is also no rash or skin breakage. Thank you.

Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone trough your query and I can understand your concerns.
Painful urination in a kid could be due to some minor stones or due to something called strictures.
Consult a urologist and get evaluated. She might require an ultrasound scan and MCU(micturating cysto urethrogram) for confirming the diagnosis.
Thanks
