What Causes Painful Urination And Vaginal Spotting?

I WAS RECENTLY DX WITH TYPE 1 DIABETES. I WAS JUST D/C FROM HOSP W/ DKA, DUE TO A HIGH DOSE OF PREDNISONE FOR RA. I HAD A SEVERE UTI, YEAST INFECTION AMONG OTHER THINGS, WHICH HAVE SINCE CLEARED UP. I AM STILL EXPERIENCING PAINFUL URINATION, SOME SPOTTING AND VAGINAL IRRITATION, I AM ALSO ON PROTONIX. I AM NOT SEXUALLY ACTIVE, AND ALSO HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ABDOMINAL PAIN AND CRAMPING, I HAD A HYSTERECTOMY 4 YEARS AGO SO, COULD THIS BE A SIDE EFFECT FROM THE SIMVASTATIN AND PROTONIX??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The symptoms are not likely related to the simvastatin or protonix. It is likely that the UTI or yeast infection did not resolve completely since urination is still painful.

A repeat urine analysis would be helpful along with physical examination (including vaginal examination).

I hope this helps
