Flomax is given for relaxation of the sphincter muscles and in no away the reason for swelling and pain in one testicle. Pain and swelling in one testicle is an urgency for getting the correct diagnosis hence planning further management particularly if this is due to torsion. Hence should be immediately taken to ER for: Clinical evaluation, examination. High resolution ultrasound and color doppler. Urine: for routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity. Tests of blood for CBC in particular as it may be raised if the problem is due to infection Te most probable causes are: Epididymo-orchitis Torsion of testes. Once diagnosed, medical treatment can be started if there is an evidence of an infection in the form of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, scrotal support for a long time till cured. Culture and sensitivity of the urine will further help in proper choice of medications. If there is a torsion, needs urgent surgery.
