What Causes Painful Spot On Penis Shaft?

Hello please help, I had a red spot that was bulgeing out of my penis shaft. It causes some pain when touched but I thought it was just from mastubating. So I have left it a couple of days to discover the end of the spot is black. Can anyone offer any causes and some treatments please

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a foruncle which is an infection of the hair follicle. I suggest to use an antibacterial cleanser to clean the area. I also suggest to use an antibiotic cream for local application such as Neosporin cream. I recommend to use loose underwear to avoid further irritation of the spot.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
