What Causes Painful Red Spot Behind Calf?

I see an irregularly shaped quarter sized pinkish red spot on the back of my calf about 1 inch below the knee. It presents as an ache. I have been doing things like shoveling snow, daily exercises for sciatica symptoms since Sept, 2014. I have been using moist heat for 10 to 14 minutes 3 times a day since yesterday. The spot hasnt gone away. Is this normal and is this symtomatic of a pulled muscle?

HI
Well come to HCM
This could be due to the activity that you are doing chances of muscle pulled would be very less likely right now this could be left like that only and if this is paining then analgesic can be used and best drug would be "Diclofenac 50 mg once in day, if this does not improved then clinical examination would be advisable, take care.
