What Causes Painful Lump And Swelling At Shoulder After An Injury?

Three nights ago while cleaning I hit the top of my left shoulder very hard which caused extreme pain (like hitting your knee). By the next morning I had developed a big bruise and swelling at the injured location. I also discovered a hard lump or knot at the injured site. The lump/knot is extremely painful. The pain is both normal pain from an injury as well as sharp spamming pain radiating from the lump. I have a problem holding something in my left hand from the pain from the lump.what could this be ?

Hi,
After going through your case there is high possibility of underlying severe tissue injury or possible bone fracture or haematoma (blood collection in soft tissues) formation.
I would like to advise you to consult orthopedician and get X ray of your left shoulder done, there might be need for ultrasound of shoulder to evaluate soft tissue injury.
Till that time use some anti inflammatory and pain killer medicine that may help in reducing swelling and pain.
I find this answer helpful
