Hi, welcome to HCM..
Thank you so much for posting your query..
I read your question completely and have understood it well.

I being a surgeon, we come across so many such cases.
Generally it happens if a woman does not have sex for a long time or, in initial days of sexual life.
Your problem is simple. You are having sex after 16 years! Which is a long time.
So it's understandable and normal to have painful intercourse.
I appreciate your nature of not telling the male partner but I suggest you should share and take his help too..

Anyway, following are the things I recommend.
1. Be cool and do not worry. Your problem is not something unusual. It happens.
2. Be positive that you can combat this problem and come out of it successfully.
3. Talk to male partner, and ask him to contact operate like
A. Go slow when entering
B. Be gentle initial days.
C. You can use some local anesthetic like lignocaine gel, this is very effective in providing pain relief

Please follow all these and slowly over time, there should not be any kind of pain.
Hope this helps you..
Take care and God bless you..
