What Causes Painful Inflammation On The Scalp With Stiff Neck?

Hi, I am a 42 year old female, named Amy. I have a lot of burning and pain in my scalp on right side of head, stiff neck and pain when moving my head/neck, in my neck. Do I need to be concerned? It began 24 hours ago, no cause I can attribute to the problem.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to cervical spondylosis.

Cervical spondylosis, or arthritis of the neck, can also cause neck pain and stiffness, which may improve when lying down.

The pain may get worse when a person stays in the same position for a long period, such as while driving or sitting in front of a computer.

Other symptoms of cervical spondylosis include headaches.

I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
