General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

What you describe sounds like a strangulated hernia. I would suggest you visit your nearest emergency care soon. Strangulated hernias mean the blood going to the hernia is starting to get cut off. You need surgery to reduce the hernia and repair the defect.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
