What Causes Painful Canker Sore On Inner Cheek?

Hello, I am a young adult and just recently (within in the past couple days) I felt some pain in the right side of my mouth. At first I thought it maybe was my wisdom teeth coming it, but after looking in the mirror today it appears a though that is not the case. There are two components to this painful area, and both are on the inside of my right cheek less than an inch above my molars. There is a slightly firm "lump" that is partially covered by what seems to be a canker sore. The discomfort also feels just like that of a canker sore, too. On the other side of this "lump" is a black dot the size of a period (.). Wondering what this is, hopefully I can get some answers.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern....

As per your complain the lumps you see on the inside of the cheek appears to be Canker sores or can be due to accidental biting of cheek with the lips leading to formation of Traumatic Ulcers which are as painful as the canker sores..
You need not to worry about it as they will get resolved..
Do warm saline gargles.
Apply numbing gel over the ulcers like Oragel for relief from pain especially during eating..
Apply a steroid based gel like Kenalog in Orabase over the sores to reduce inflammation..
You can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for pain relief..
Gargle with 1:1 solution of benadryl and milk of magnesia can help...
Sucking ice pops will relieve..
Avoid hot and spicy food to prevent irritation..
If the sores does not improve in a week consult an oral physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

If you find the answer helpful please give me a Five Star Review and click on found the answer helpful as a token of appreciation..
