Now bruising has appeared around the base of my toes n its still quite painful when walking, the pain is on the underneath of my foot at the base of my toes. Also still swelling slightly.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain it seems that due to falling there has been injury to the soft tissues of the feet leading to inflammation of the soft tissue fibres as well as there is rupture to small blood vessels leading to spillage of blood into the soft tissues causing hematoma formation..
The swelling is due to accumulation of inflammatory fluid, cells inflamed tissue and broken blood vessels in the area of injury as well as busining is due to spilled blood..
I would suggest you to consult an Orthopedician and get evaluated and he can advise an x-ray of the feet to rule out for any hairline fracture in bone..
In case if there is fracture reduction and immobilization will be done..
In case if there is no fracture doing cool compresses over the feet, taking Ibuprofen for pain and applying Heparin gel to fade the bruising fast will help..
Elevate your feet while lying down..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
