What Causes Painful Bloating Every Evening?

For a month now I feel painfully bloated every evening, regardless of what I eat. This began while I was living in Peru and has not gotten better after being home for two weeks. The strange thing is that it is ONLY after dinner (sometimes almost immediately) and on into the night. The rest of the day I m fine. I wonder if it could be a parasite or some sort of infection. I had a bad bout of diarrhea several weeks ago, but now am fairly regular. I ve been taking pro-biotics for almost 2 weeks, but there hasn t been much change. Any thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Parasitic infections should be ruled out in your case. A stool routine examination will be helpful for this. Protozoal infections like giardiasis or amoeba can give such problems also. In such case metronidazole therapy along with probiotics will be helpful. Possibility of inflammatory bowel from some irritating foods also should be ruled out.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if any thing not clear.
Thanks.
