Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just noticed my gum between and around two teeth is swollen and it hurts without even touching it. I used peroxide, two mouthwashes and brushed my teeth and all I did was bleed from my mouth and the gums hurt still. I had some hard granola bars today and chewed on that side, whats happening?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that there is infection in the gums due to improper oral hygiene and bacterial over growth in that area leading to inflammation pain and swelling.
It can also be due to injury to the gums by the hard food or toothbrush bristles etc.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of Infection scaling, curettage and oral intake of antibiotics, painkillers, warm saline gargles and topical application of gum paint will relieve.. Use a soft toothbrush to avoid further injury to the gums.. Take a soft diet.
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
