What Causes Painful And Frequent Urination With Occasional Blood In Urine?

How to know the difference between a UTI and a STD. I had sex the first time three days ago and it hurts to pee and there is all the time constantly the need to pes and at first there was blood but now the blood is not as bad and the constant need to pee is still present and it still is uncomfortable to pee just not painful anymore. Should I go to the hospital or wait to go to the health department to get tested?

Hello
Thanks for query .

Based o the facts that you have posted you had sex 3 days ago which is followed by urinary symptoms like burning urination ,urgency ,frequency etc.

As regard your query about STD ,You have not mentioned whether you has protected sex or unprotected sex .

Normally risk of getting STD is very high if one has unprotected and unsafe sex . With STD one has urinary symptoms associated with urethral discharge .

.All the symptoms that you have strongly suggest UTI .

Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water .To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
