What Causes Pain While Walking And Breathing?

I am 56 with ostopenia...my 18 year old and I were fooling around the other day and he picked me up and placed (threw) me over his shoulder...I immediately heard and felt a pop, he and his friend heard it too. I didn t think that much about it, however I find it is getting worst by the day. I have not been to the doctor but I also know there is nothing to be done if it did break. Is it possible to hear that sound and be in excruciating pain to walk, breathe, think. I actually have a high tolerance for pain, and am not a complainer, this pain if awful. How would I know if that pop was a break or a pulled muscle.
